Edvardsen Sempai has a broad background in various martial arts. His main background is from Kyokushin Karate., started his karate training in 1984. In 1987 he was an uchi-deshi in Wales under Sensei Alun Jones. He has a competition background in full contact, semi contact and point karate (WUKO). He has been National Champion for three times and has participated in several international championships. Besides karate, Sempai Edvardsen has experience from kickboxing, BJJ and grappling. Today he combines his karate training with Dokan Ryu Ju Jutsu.
He is working as a prison officer and restrain, control & arresting techniques instructor at the Norwegian Correctional Authorities.
In September 2009 he founded his club, Dokan Dojo Hole, Norway.
