What is EBC?!

 

European Budo Council (EBC) is a non-profit international martial arts organisation and a world wide budo network (WWBN), with members in Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Germany, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Netherland, Scotland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Russia, Sweden and other Countries. It also has affiliated honorary members from many non European countries e.g. USA. This organisation is a governing body for European Budo Games and E.B.C Int’l Budo Camps & Seminars. European Budo Council serves as a promotional body to all its outstanding members and affiliates.

The purpose of the EBC is to offer all members:

  • A world wide budo network (WWBN) with access to Martial Artists from different countries across the world.
  • A major annual event, known as the ‘European Budo Games’ hosted in different countries, featuring: seminars, clinics and open competitions.
  • The Network to give members access to participate in a diverse range of seminars, budo training camps, and clinics all with world class masters, and competitions. This is a great opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones, exchange techniques and coaching methodology, beliefs, experiences and ideas, in Koryo (tradititional) & Gendai (modern & sports) Martial Arts as well as have a good time.
  • Inclusion in the EBC web-site where they can promote their organisation, group or club.
  • Services such as events management, membership management and dojo services e.g. EBC Budo passes, grade certificates, posters, etc. The central EBC marketing office can also help your organisation, club or dojo with its marketing needs.
  • EBC is there for you and your members.
  • European Budo Council does not interfere in anyway with your martial arts style, promotions or Federation, Association, Organisation or Private Dojo work.
Budō is a compound of the root bu (), meaning war or martial; and (), meaning path or way. Specifically, is derived from the Buddhist Sanskrit mārga (meaning the 'path' to enlightenment). The term refers to the idea of formulating propositions, subjecting them to philosophical critique and then following a 'path' to realize them. signifies a 'way of life'. in the Japanese context, is an experiential term, experiential in the sense that practice (the way of life) is the norm to verify the validity of the discipline cultivated through a given art form.
