GENERAL CRITERIA

At least 20 years of training. At least 35 years of age.

Responsible for the technical progress and leads his own organization or schools. Should have educated several generations of yudanshas.

At least 10 years since promotion to Renshi. At least 45 years of age.

At least 10 years since promotion to Kyoshi. At least 55 years of age.

GRADE CRITERIA

4-6th Dan, but at least 3 years since promotion to 4th Dan

At least 5th Dan.

At least 7th Dan.

At least 8th Dan.

OTHER CRITERIA

Proven dedication to Budo through long term teaching experience. A member of a discipline who is recognised for his expertise in that discipline.

Outstanding knowledge of the traditions and methods of Budo. Demonstrated excellence of technique and teaching methods.

Proven leadership and exceptional contribution to Budo. Deep understanding of the techniques, history and spirit of the Martial Arts.
